Save Money on Petrol & Diesel

Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's trim up to 2p off petrol and diesel ahead of half-term getaways as oil prices fall

Supermarkets have knocked up to 2p off a litre of petrol and diesel ahead of the halt-term break as they respond to falling oil prices.

Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's have all shaved up to 2p from a litre of fuel, with Tesco expected to follow suit shortly.

The move comes just days after experts called for fuel retailers to lower their prices after the price of oil fell dramatically in the last fortnight.

Asda was first to make the leap on Friday morning.

Dave Tyrer, head of petrol trading at the supermarket, said: 'As a result of wholesale prices falling this week, we’ve cut up to 2p per litre off unleaded and diesel.'

It means drivers will pay 118.7p per litre of petrol and 119.7p for diesel at its pumps.
